Central Plains Chapter Meeting:

"Blended Security Threats", David Remington, f5 Networks

David Remington has over a decade of experience assisting organizations with Network Security Architecture and Web Application Security—from the Mid-Cap to Fortune-50 corporations, along with Non-Profit, State, Local and Federal Government entities. His role at f5 Networks as a Web App Security Subject Matter Expert affords a diverse insight into the web application security challenges faced by organizations of all types throughout the world and a practical understanding of the techniques available to improve their security.

David will be presenting on Security Threats

Organizations are seeing a dramatic increase in the breadth and complexity of attacks on their web and network infrastructure. This presentation will look into emerging concepts such as 3DoS (Diverse, Distributed, Denial of Service) and remotely inserted malware and provide a deep dive analysis into data retrieved from recent security events to explore attack methodologies and possible mitigations. Finally, the discussion will wrap up with web application security best practices.

The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® is a not-for-profit international organization of information security professionals and practitioners.  It provides education forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members. We hope the ISSA will provide a chance to interface with other IT professionals and further your awareness of security practices and technologies.

This meeting is open to the general public with no expectations of membership.
