He was a key team member in the establishment of what are now the Air Force Network Operations and Security Centers (NOSC).

Alan will be presenting on Ransomware

Ransomware is malicious software that criminals use to encrypt files and hold valuable data for ransom. Once infected, organizations are forced to restore data from backup with some data loss or pay the ransom. Recently there has been a rash of ransomware incidents across the country especially targeting the health care industry, in some cases affecting patient care. This presentation will cover security weaknesses that increase the risk of an organization being infected as well as recommended measures that organizations should apply and consistently maintain to reduce the likelihood of them being victim to a ransomware attack.

The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® is a not-for-profit international organization of information security professionals and practitioners.  It provides education forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members. We hope the ISSA will provide a chance to interface with other IT professionals and further your awareness of security practices and technologies.
