Central Plains Chapter Meeting:

"Securing Your Cisco Infrastructure – Router Security ", Kip Schroeder

By default, Cisco routers are shipped without security enabled. In many cases, these same routers are installed and configured with minimal modification. Unfortunately, the goal has been to "make it work" with the least amount of time and effort. Fortunately, there are configuration parameters and best practices which can enable each of us to cohesively secure our routed networks. In this presentation, Kip Schroeder will be identifying key routing vulnerabilities and their associated preventative counter measures. This presentation will be technical in nature and will provide specific commands and steps which can and should be taken to secure your routing infrastructure.

The presenter, Kip Schroeder, has been in the IT field for the past 13 years and has spent the last 2 and a half working for Cisco Systems where he has focused exclusively on securing voice and data communication networks. Kip has lived and worked for the past 10 years in Wichita, KS where he has spent time interacting and consulting with most of our medium and large companies.
