"Host Based Replication", Jason Buffington

Jason Buffington has been working in the networking industry since 1989, with a majority of that time being focused on data protection. He is a Business Continuity Planner, as well as a Microsoft MCT-MCSE and Novell Master CNE. Jason is a frequent contributor to several storage and business-continuity periodicals and has spoken around the world at events such as Storage Networking World, HP-Compaq ENSA, SAN World, Contingency Planning, and numerous disaster recovery seminars. He currently serves as the Director of Business Continuity for NSI Software, the leading manufacturer of High Availability and Disaster Recovery software, where he has worked since 1996.

Jason will be presenting "Host Based Replication":

Replication is not a "new technology". NSI Software has been replicating server data from the O/S perspective for almost ten years. While not a product-pitch, NSI will be presenting on common uses of host-based replication technology, in contrast to storage/fabric-based. Many of these techniques can be done with very little budget and an ROI of only a few months.

    You will learn:
    • High Availability without clustering
    • Disaster Recovery without a budget
    • Backing Up Branches without breaking the WAN
    • Migrating servers without giving up weekends
