Central Plains Chapter Meeting:

"Threat Hunt Tour", Eric Foster

Eric Foster serves as President of CYDERES - "Cyber Defense & Response" a security-as-a-service Fishtech venture that delivers managed detection and response across both on-prem and cloud. Foster has served time on all sides of the table as part of a 24-year career in security. Highlights include CISO and later Chief Technology Architect for UMB Financial, CISO for Netsmart, COO at AOS, and Head of Customer Success for RiskIQ. Other startup experience includes MMAjunkie.com (founder, sold to USA Today) and eScout.com (sold to PerfectCommerce). Advisory experience includes Archer Technologies (sold to RSA), Positive Networks (sold to Microsoft), Onspring.com (active), and before joining Fishtech full time, the Fishtech Advisory Board. Foster holds CISSP and CCSP certifications. When not hunting threats or detonating malware (mostly intentionally), you'll find Eric spending time outdoors with his wife, daughter and son.

Eric will be presenting on Threat Hunting

Fishtech will be bringing their popular nationwide Threat Hunt Tour (ThreatHuntTour.com) to the ISSA chapter meeting on 12/06. This will be a hands-on workshop with proactive strategies for hunting threats led by Fishtech Venture's CYDERES - Cyber Defense and Response. In addition to a hands on threat hunting workshop, attendees will get a discussion on recommended free / open source / low cost solutions to power automated security outcomes, premium / trial subscription of several recommended threat hunting tools (including VirusTotal Enterprise and RiskIQ) and will receive a link to a personal interactive AI-driven threat hunting environment powered by Google's Backstory solution -- as well as catered lunch, swag package and the opportunity to build connection with industry peers.
