Phil will be presenting on Securing VoIP

Voice over IP (VoIP) is one of the hottest IT topics in the industry today. Various market studies have shown that consumers are following IP telephony with interest and plan to switch over from traditional to IP telephony within a few years.

As a technology, VoIP was developed by "network people." Therefore, they looked primarily at the connectivity issues and much less at security factors. Before the market and the technology have evolved enough to be able to say that VoIP is safe, security issue will need to be addressed.

The topics of this presentation include:

    • Potential vulnerabilities with VoIP.
    • Traditional network attacks.
    • Application layer vulnerabilities.
    • Social engineering tactics.
    • Ways to protect your VoIP implementation.
