"3Ps of Incident Response", Brett Solon

Brett Solon is a Senior Information Security Analyst at CURO Financial Technologies Corp. He has over 7 years of IT Security experience, specializing in SIEM, incident response and process automation. Brett has a B.S. in Computer Engineering from WSU, and many industry certifications including CISSP, CEH, GCIA, GNFA.

According to Hewlett Packard's State of Security Operations, the biggest and most persistent gap within Information Security programs is related to processes. Companies have technology for mature cyber security operations but lack the supporting processes to fully implement or realize these technological capabilities. So why don't we spend more time discussing processes?
One underlying issue is a fundamental misunderstanding of the terminology involved. The terms policy, process and procedure are used interchangeably by many IT professionals, but they are different. And the difference is important!
This presentation will explore the differences between these concepts and how to apply them to help organize, streamline and mature your Information Security program using incident response as a case study.
