Central Plains Chapter Meeting:
"Data Analytics", Daniel Charboneau, Splunk
Daniel Charboneau is a Major Accounts Systems Engineer at Splunk. Splunk is a big data analytics platform that makes data accessible, valuable and usable to everyone.
Daniel was previously Director Information Security at Epiq Systems, Security Business Development Manager at Cisco, National Channel Systems Engineer at Cisco Systems,
and Director Information Security at NovaStar Financial. His specialties are network theory, emergence, complex adaptive systems, operations, innovation, network & systems
architecture, compliance, auditing, and security policy.
Daniel will be presenting on Data Analytics
Daniel will provide an overview of the Splunk Platform and common security use cases for Splunk. Whether it be compliance, management initiatives, or security maturity driven more
and more companies are implementing SIEM technology. What we would like to discuss is what happens after a SIEM is in place, and where it can assist any organization by increasing
security posture, reducing time to discovery for security incidents, or simply increasing the power of a security analyst. During this discussion we will go through some common benefits
other than "filling the compliance checkbox" and give some great starting points "I have a SIEM, now what do I do with it!?"
