"False Positives Hurt! - Managing Alerts with a Content Development System", Brett Solon

Brett Solon is a Senior Information Security Analyst at CURO Financial Technologies Corp. He has over 7 years of IT Security experience, specializing in SIEM, incident response and process automation. Brett has a B.S. in Computer Engineering from WSU, and many industry certifications including CISSP, CEH, GCIA, GNFA.

This presentation is an expanded version of the talk presented at OzSec 2018, and will cover the real world application and use of common software tools in the development of an Information Security Content Development System (CDS). A CDS is a valuable tool in the management of security event data and alerts, and in the management of the Incident Response process. The presentation will provide the methodology behind a CDS, how it can be used, and the real world examples of the value it can deliver.
