Central Plains Chapter Meeting:

"Securing Your Domain Name Service", Kip Schroeder, (Cisco)

 

Kip Schroeder has been in the IT field for the past 19 years and has spent the last 8 working for Cisco Systems where he has focused exclusively on securing voice and data communication networks. Kip is a regular presenter to industry trade groups including ISSA where he shares broadly from his engagements and perception of industry directions. Kip has lived and worked for the past 16 years in Wichita, KS where he has spent time interacting and consulting with both national and international companies from a multitude of industry segments.


Kip will be presenting on existing and coming security features in DNS

    Kip Schroeder will provide a brief summary of basic DNS followed by the security mechanisms existing in DNS for symmetric and asymmetric encryption, as well as secure dynamic updates of DNS information. The bulk of the session covers the DNSSEC standard, deployed since December 2005.

     

 

The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® is a not-for-profit international organization of information security professionals and practitioners.  It provides education forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members. We hope the ISSA will provide a chance to interface with other IT professionals and further your awareness of security practices and technologies.
